Equestrian

Debbie Nielson at debbie@jackrabbitridge.org

Debbie Nielsen has made the Tri-Cities home for the past 30 years and brings a diverse background to the JRR project. Debbie was a Chemical Engineer at the Fast Flux Test Facility on the Hanford Project for nearly 20 years and was the lead environmental engineer for all new projects considered for the facility, thus has in depth knowledge of environmental impact assessments and regulations. Debbie is also an avid horse enthusiast and is active in the Benton Franklin County 4-H program as a horse project leader.

"I've been riding on JRR for more than 10 years and the beauty of the ridge never stops affecting me. Riding through the sagebrush and observing the many species of birds, animals and plants that thrive there is thrilling. You never know what you are going to see next and the views of the Columbia Basin from the ridge are stunning. It makes me sad to see development encroaching on this relatively untouched area and already it is becoming more difficult to access. Establishment of the JRR project would ensure that the ridge would be available for all people in our community to enjoy and experience the wonders of this unique habitat."
