Project Lead
Donna Lucas at donna@jackrabbitridge.org
Donna has lived in the Tri-Cities for 30 years. As a former project manager
for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, she brings to the JRR Project
the skills for keeping it functioning in an effective manner.
"Ever since I can remember, I have greatly appreciated
all that Nature has set before me. Helping to protect natural open spaces
such as JRR for future generations to also enjoy is the greatest service
I can offer to my children and to this community."

Equestrian
Debbie Nielson at debbie@jackrabbitridge.org
Debbie Nielsen has made the Tri-Cities home for the past 30 years and
brings a diverse background to the JRR project. Debbie was a Chemical
Engineer at the Fast Flux Test Facility on the Hanford Project for nearly
20 years and was the lead environmental engineer for all new projects
considered for the facility, thus has in depth knowledge of environmental
impact assessments and regulations. Debbie is also an avid horse enthusiast
and is active in the Benton Franklin County 4-H program as a horse project
leader.
"I've been riding on JRR for more than 10 years and the
beauty of the ridge never stops affecting me. Riding through the sagebrush
and observing the many species of birds, animals and plants that thrive
there is thrilling. You never know what you are going to see next and
the views of the Columbia Basin from the ridge are stunning. It makes
me sad to see development encroaching on this relatively untouched area
and already it is becoming more difficult to access. Establishment of
the JRR project would ensure that the ridge would be available for all
people in our community to enjoy and experience the wonders of this unique
habitat."

"I have a 9 year old son, and I believe that the best way
to teach him the importance of a commitment to protect and sustain our
environment and its natural habitats is to lead by example."
